NEET 2018 Medical Entrance Exam Information (AIPMT & AIIMS)

What is NEET Medical Exam ?

AIPMT (NEET- UG)

NEET is an Entrance Test for selection of candidates for admission to MBBS/BDS courses under 15% All India Quota seats in Government Medical/Dental colleges of India under the control of DGHS, Govt. of India except in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana.

NEET Guide Misostudy

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is a entrance examination in India, for students who wish to study any graduate medical course (MBBS), dental course (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD / MS) in government or private medical colleges in India. NEET-UG (Undergraduate), for MBBS and BDS courses, will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). NEET-UG replaced the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges themselves. However, many colleges and institutes have taken a stay order and conducted private examinations for admission to their MBBS and BDS courses.

Undergraduate courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawarharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are outside the NEET's purview, as these institutes were set up by separate laws.

AIIMS (NEET- PG)

All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) entrance exam is one of the most popular and extensively competitive entrance examinations in the medical field in India today. It is the gateway to a prospering career in medical sciences, held every year on a national level.

NEET-PG is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses as per Section (10) of Indian Medical Council Act 1956.

NEET-PG is a single window entrance examination for PG courses. No otherentrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 w.e.f. 2018 admission session.

The Honorable Supreme Court on April 28th, 2016 approved NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test as the single examination. The development which happened three days before the AIPMT 2016 exam had created a lot of confusion amongst medical aspirants who were studying for various medical entrance exams all across the country.
