What is NEET Medical Exam ?

NEET 2023

The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG will be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. This Test was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018. NEET (UG) is applicable for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry

NEET Guide Misostudy

The responsibility of the NTA will limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing All India Rank to the Directorate General Health Services, Government of India for the conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats and for supplying the result to state/other Counselling Authorities However now all changes have been rolled back.   • The NEET (UG) - 2023 is going to be conducted by NTA as per the Schedule given in the Information at a Glance for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS Courses under the medical institutions governed as per the relevant norms/guidelines/regulations notified by the concerned Regulatory Bodies under the NCISM Act, 2020 and NCH Act, 2020
  • The official website of the NTA for NEET (UG) - 2023 is https://neet.nta.nic.in/ All the test-related information, as amended from time to time (if any), will be available on this website only. Candidates must regularly visit this website for the latest updates.
  • Like last year, NEET 2023 exam will also be conducted in 11 languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujrati, Oriya, Assamese, Kannada and Telugu. Candidates can select their choice of language at the time of filling the NEET 2023 application form.
  • The application process will also be online

NEET 2023 is expected to be conducted by NTA on 07 May 2023 (Sunday). Online Submission of Application Form start from 06 March 2023 to 06 April 2023. The last date to submit the application form will be 06 April 2023 (up to 11:50 PM). NEET 2023 admit card will be available for download online. After the examination is held, candidates will be able to download the provisional answer key of NEET 2023.

NEET Eligibility Criteria & Registration

The eligibility criteria for NEET 2023 is mentioned below :

Nationality

  • Candidate should be an Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs) & Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply for NEET UG.
  • Candidates belong to J&K state will be eligible to apply for 15% All India Quota on the basis of self declaration.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age limit is 17 years as on December 31,2023 of the year of admission or candidates belonging to all the categories.
  • The rule specifying the maximum age limit of the candidate was challenged last year in the court of law. Thus, there is no upper age limit as of now and candidates older than 25 years of age applying for NEET 2023 will be provisionally admitted subject to the ruling of the High Court of Delhi.

Class 12 Marks/Qualification

  • Students must have passed class 12 board exam or an equivalent exam from a recognized board with at least five mandatory subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and an elective subject.
  • PercentageCriteria: Minimum 50% marks for general (UR), 40% marks for PwD and 40% marks for OBC/SC/ST candidates.

NEET Attempt Limit

  • No restrictions on the number of attempts.

Adhaar Card Mandate:

  • Aadhar number is not mandatory to apply for NEET exam.
  • J&K, Assam & Meghalaya candidates can also apply by providing their passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid Government ID number.
  • NRI candidates can apply by Adhaar Card number or Passport Number.
  • PIO, OCI & Foreign nationals candidates can apply by Passport Number.

NEET Registration Process

How to Apply for NEET 2023?

Medical aspirants can apply for NTA NEET 2023 only through online process.

  • NEET UG registration 2023 will be commenced from 06 March 2023 to 06 April 2023
  • Visit the official website, ntaneet.nic.in and register for NEET 2023
  • Before "Proceeding for Applying Online Form for NEET 2023 (UG)", check out the guidelines carefully.
  • Fill all the mandatory fields in the online form, including the personal and academic details
  • Upload the required documents such as scanned copies of photographs, signature, left-hand thumb impression and Class 10 Certificate
  • Take a printout of the confirmation page and preserve it for future reference

Application Fee of NEET 2023

The application fee had to be paid online Only.

  • Candidates can pay online fee using debit card/ credit card/ net banking and UPI or PAYTM.
  • Fee through any offline mode will not be accepted.
  • Application fee is non-refundable.

  • Number of Questions: There will be 200 questions out of which 180 questions are mandatory. In the section B, choices will be given to candidates.
  • Type of Questions: The question will comprise Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • The duration of the exam would be 3 hours and 20 minutes
  • Mode of Exam is Pen and Paper.
  • Medium: The NEET question paper 2023 will be in these languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Punjabi.
  • Marking scheme is 4 Marks for each correct answer and 1 negative mark for each incorrect answer and no marks for unmarked questions.
