NEET 2017: Here's the list of banned items at NEET exam hall

Published 8 years ago

The National Eligibility Test (NEET) 2017 is all set to take place on Sunday, May 7 in 103 cities across the country. With the rise in cases of mass cheating in various board examination this year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all geared up to avoid cheating cases in medical examination. To avoid this, the board has issued various dos and don'ts like banning wearing high heels sandals to the examination centre.

In addition to this, candidates need to come in proper dress code to the examination Centre.

NEET is conducted for admissions to MBBS/BDS courses in medical/dental colleges run with an approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Guidelines for men:

  • All the male students, if found wearing kurta-pyjama or shoes, will not be allowed to enter the exam Centre
  • Only candidates with light-colored jeans, trousers and half-sleeved shirts, with sandals or slippers, will be allowed

Guidelines for women:

  • All female candidates cannot wear big buttons, brooches or high-heeled shoes

More prohibited items:

  • Aspirants are not allowed to carry writing implements or erasers into the exam hall
  • Further, CBSE in official notification said pens will be provided to the candidates by the board once he or she enters the test Centre

Moreover, these guidelines have been followed even at the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) and JEE-Advanced.

Here's what the Director of NEET said:

"Even the Union Public Service Commission and Railway Board have adopted similar protocols for their exams," said Sanyam Bhardwaj, Director, NEET.

Over 11 lakh candidates have registered for NEET 2017. "All the clocks at exam Centre’s will be synced with the CBSE website's time. Though the aspirants cannot carry watches into the halls, they need to follow the CBSE timings," added Bhardwaj in recent TOI report.

Latest developments in NEET:

The Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD), Prakash Javadekar on March 24, said that (NEET) will be conducted in 23 new cities across the country. This move comes on the backdrop of various state governments such as Tamil Nadu rejecting NEET exam over the inaccessibility of exam centers for rural students.
