10 years ago, NTSE or National Talent Search Examination, was the only prestigious talent exam for 10th class students. But things are different now. 1. National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) A national level examination cum scholarship program, it is one of most prestigious competitive exams for school students. NTSE’s sole purpose is to identify students who have high academic talent and exceptional intellectual ability. It follows the NCERT prescribed syllabus covering Science, Maths, Social Science and Mental Ability. The students who qualify this two-tier exam receive cash scholarship for the complete academic year. The examination will consist of Mental Ability Test(MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT)

Kishore Vigyan Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)It is a national level competitive exam for students of classes XI and XII which is conducted with an aim to encourage students to take up research as a career in the field of Science, Engineering and Medicine. The selected students become eligible for admission to the five-year integrated MS program at the Indian Institute for Science Education and Research.
3. Indian National Olympiad (INO)Financially supported by the Government of India, this programme aims at promoting excellence in science and mathematics among students at school level. Olympiads involve a five-stage procedure. The first stage for each subject is organized by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) in collaboration with teacher associations in other subjects. All the remaining stages are organized by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE).
4. National Interactive Math’s Olympiad ( NIMO )This is a national level exam conducted by the Eduheal Foundation. CBSE/ICSE/ State Boards and NIMO students studying in class 11 to12 are eligible to appear for it. NIMO promises to make math more fun by introducing activities like interactive Olympiad, workshops and seminars.
5. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET):NEET 2018 (UG Medical Exam) is one of the toughest medical entrance exams in India. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is conducted by CBSE for students who wish to get admission in undergraduate MBBS/BDS/Ayush Courses. Recently, Government of India has made NEET Exam mandatory to pursue medical courses in abroad and India.

6. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE):JEE is an engineering entrance exam organized for the admission to various engineering colleges in India. This exam is conducted for admission to BTech/BE programmes in 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 22 CFTIs. The exam is conducted in two parts: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The second phase of the exam, which is JEE Advanced is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging undergraduate admission tests.
