Engineering aspirants in India aim for top
institutes like IITs, NITs, and IIITs through two major entrance exams — JEE
Main and JEE Advanced. This document provides complete information including

JEE Main is a national-level engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission into NITs, IIITs, and other government engineering colleges. It is also the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced.
Students must have passed Class 12 in 2024,
2025, or appearing in 2026. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects.
For admission to NITs/IIITs, 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) may be required.
Computer-based test with multiple choice
and numerical questions. Papers available for B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Plan.
JEE Advanced is the entrance exam for
admission into IITs and is conducted each year by one of the IITs.
Candidates must be among the top 2.5 lakh
students of JEE Main 2026. Category-wise reservation applies. Maximum two
attempts allowed in consecutive years.
Computer-based test consisting of Paper 1
and Paper 2 (both compulsory). Each paper is 3 hours. Subjects include Physics,
Chemistry, and Mathematics.
