Application forms available from Friday; Aadhaar has been made mandatory for all except NRIs
Online application forms for the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 are now available for submission till March 9, 2018.
The last date for the payment of fees to write the examination — which will be held on May 6, 2018 — is March 10, 2018.To apply for the NEET exam, a candidate shall fill the application form on the official website. The candidates must also have an Aadhaar number to apply for the exam. Non-resident Indians, however, need an Aadhaar or passport to apply. Eligible candidates must be in the age group of 17 to 25, but there is five-year age relaxation for SC, ST and OBC candidates.
Candidates who have passed Grade 12 from Open Schools or as private candidates are not eligible to appear for NEET.
The fees payable for appearing for the exam is ₹1400 for general and OBC candidates and ₹750 for SC, ST and PH candidates.
The NEET (UG) consists of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). The duration of the paper is three hours.
